My mission opening was one of the most exciting days I have had in my life. I lived in Provo at the time and so when Jordan and I were driving up to our house, we were naming all of the places that I could go. He mentioned how sweet it would be if I got to go to his mission in Guatemala, but I honestly couldn't see myself going there because that mission was exactly for Jordan and he was meant to go there. About a year ago, when they held General Conference, in between the sessions, they played a video about Peru. As I was watching it, the spirit hit me so hard, and I remember saying that I want to go to Peru. When I got to my house and looked at the stamp number that was put on my envelope, It was about $1.49 so I thought I was going to be called state side. Being called to a state, isn't a bad thing, I just felt that I needed to go outside of the country so I was very worried that I wasn't going to get a chance to learn Spanish and go to a different country. When I opened my call around 8:00 pm I was so excited. I read off the Chiclayo Peru Mission and I just lost it because of the tears that shot out of my eyes. I knew that Peru is the perfect place for me and I know that my call was inspired by God. Also, it said I will prepare to teach the gospel in the Spanish language and that made me so happy because a lot of my family, including my brother and my mom know Spanish and I can't wait to speak it with them. Peru is where the Lord needs me and it's where I will have so many wonderful experiences. Peru will be my home for the next 2 years and I couldn't be more excited to serve. I love you all and all of you are in my prayers.
